If anyone is curious about cantilever or mezzanine rear suspension setups, check out this thread:
http://www.race-dezert.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12739

There are a few advantages, mainly packaging without having to put shocks through a cab or bed, and the shocks are able to have a progressive motion ratio if it's setup correctly.

It's been used effectively in a few trophy trucks, and you can use a slightly shorter shock than with a traditional (forward) mounting position.

One big downside to having your shocks hanging off the back is damage due to nerfing

ah your right, my dad has a green shelf just like that in the garage.

Mini beast we are wrong, not a bed frame although the bed frames do have that slot style hole on it just like the shelf.

On the drivers side it looks like the regular shackle is bottomed on the frame.

Other than that, this looks like a very nice vehicle. Just thought I'd say that.

That seems to be a common set up on Toyotas.. Not sure why..

63" Chevy swap, they use dual shackles so they dont have to relocate the stock shackle hanger. That one is just weird with the revolver kind of thing going though.
