http://www.magicswitzerland.com/grindelwald.htm

Lucern and Grindelwald are my favorites, but I've only skied a couple places in the swiss alps. I didn't ski in any other countries.

I hear chamonix is good, but I haven't learned to ski yet so I can't verify.

I snowboarded in Arvidsjaur and Arjeplog in Sweden. Not because it was exciting and exotic, but because it was what you could do on Sunday while working there for 3-weeks-on/1-week-off.

I wouldn't recommend it, unless you are already stuck in either of those towns.

I go to Switzerland every year. I don't go to Austria every year.

Lucern Switzerland was the most fun I had while over there. Great slopes, cool town. It could be that I was there over the New Year holiday too. I skied Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

Nice. I'd love to tour the former Communist Blocs.

Pics from Saas-Fee, Switzerland and a couple shots from the train.

Looking back at the lodge/restaurant gondola termination point

Had to walk from there to "here". From "here" I took a T-bar at least a 1/2 mile run, slowly up the mountain.

Bern, Switzerland

Somewhere near Zurich, Switzerland

again. . .

Nice pics, looks like a cool place. How did you carry your camera when out riding?

In my experience, it was very similar to spring Utah conditions- high altitiude, temps in the high 20s, low humidity, and fluffly, dry powder.

I carried my D40 w/ attached 18-55mm lens in the front pocket of my bibs. It wasn't uncomfortable, but I was very aware of it when I rode intermediate-advanced terrain. I fell a few times and managed to turn to my back each time.
