Palin a "Fresh Face" for Washington? I Dont Think So.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/....ap/index.html

Taxpayer dollars paid for her kids to travel to events they were not invited to. Palin says they were conducting "official business". What kind of official business can a 7 year old do?

Politics as usual, Palin is no different than any other Washington schill. Is this the "Change" that is "Coming"? No thank you.

I've tuned out the majority of both sides lately, but I thought "change" was obama's mantra, not the republican side.

there's enough mud/dirt on both side that one can pretty much characterize him as old school politician even though he's but a junior senator himself...

The point is, she has been touted as an "agent of change", one who will shake up washigton politics. She is just like all the other politicians out there. She blows taxpayer dollars to ship her 7 year old around on "official business". Why cant Dad watch the kids? The on this site bitch a lot about wasting taxpayer dollars but totally ignore it when Palin does it. It is a shame that McCain picked her, she is certainly helping to sink his ship between this, troopergate and her radical stance on abortion.

most folks realize that all politicians are full of shit. most folks realize that campaign slogans and even entire campaign themes/promises don't mean jack shit.

you're complaining about a the way they are spinning a potential VP when Obama's entire campaign is nothing but smoke and mirrors about "change"

Nope, Ill say it again. Im pointing out that the "agent of change" is in fact, not an agent of change. Ill say it again if you like.

guess I need to make a thread pointing out that Obama's "change" campaign is equally full of shit.

that however would be redundant...

I'm really not concerned about a $500 plane ticket when the Dems muddling in the housing market may cost us 1 Trillion dollars. Or how about the cost of Obama's health care plan?

That is what is funny about Palin. Everyone wants to make news on her scandals, but all the news can come up with is a grand in plane tickets and her firing her stupid ass brother in law.

Okay, Ill say it again, maybe reword it a little to see if I can make my point.

If Palin is just like all the other politicians out there, she is no better and no worse than Obama. You cannot discredit Obama without discrediting your own candidate. If you are willing to discredit McCain/Palin in order to bash Obama, then so be it. My point is, again, that she misuses your taxpayer dollars.

With respect to the housing market, people have to have some responsibility for their own actions here. You cant blame the fact that people didnt read their contracts on the dems. Isnt it a Republican tenet that people are responsible for themselves?

The Dems wanted EVERYONE to afford a house, regardless of their actual ability to pay... I don't think you fully understand exactly how much of an impact they had on the loosening of the mortgage regulations - the regulations that were put in part due to the Keating scandal some years before to attempt to not let it happen again. The net effect was not only did it let unqualified folks that had essentially zero opportunity to repay obtain hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans, but also the middle class to over extend themselves, and just as importantly for the less than ethical to use straw buyers, LLC's, and such to commit outright mortgage fraud on an unprecedented scale. In aggregate it's the trillion dollar nightmare - not some poor schumck that was irresponsible...

I don't see many people touting McCain in as much as they see through the liberal, biased media, and the nearly obscene amounts of bullshit they are shoveling attempting to portray Obama as some sick messiah... for one thing McCain's message is nearly drowned out what with Obama's record spending, and the media being pro bama for the past 3 years...

Make no mistake, you are also comparing the potential VP, vs. the potential President. The VP won't be signing laws into effect, or vetoing them unless something happens to McCain...

I think after she balanced the budget and started sending surplus checks to the citizens of Alaska. they don't care if she wore rhinestone panties. Yeah, she was responsible for that.

where as Obama took $120k++ from the organizations that cause our economic collapse, and never did diddly squat.

What was your point again?

I think that capatializing on the fact that a mother took her family with her somewhere instead of leaving them at home is pretty stupid. That's not a value that you want changed. We already know what happens in the Palin family when you leave the kids unsupervised. I think that taking her family with her is the responsible thing to do.

Just a note. I wouldn't have given money back. I think they should have invested it in infrastructure and services.

I dont beleive too much of what any politician has to say these days, they all have their own hidden agenda's and will sell off the American people in a second to special interest groups, lobbiest ect..They'll tell you what they think you want to hear during election times, but in the end, the American middle class suffer the most.

I voted Republican for the very first time in my 51 years of life during the last election and I GAUREENTEE you, I will NOT make the same mistake again.I think GWB is one of the worst Presidents of my time. His goals and agenda's do not and have NEVER,addressed the middle class. I dont see ANYTHING in Micky Mouse that indicates anything will change if he gets into office. Micky Mouse dont stand a CHANCE in Michigan, thats WHY he did'nt even bother to appear during his last scheduled visit. The middle class has had ENOUGH of the Republican Party and its time to see if somebody else can make a change.

Obama?
I like what he has to say with respect to the middle class.Do I beleive all of it?

Nope----but I dont TRUST anything the Micky Mouse party says.
