On that much I agree. Aside from electioneering time however, the Republicans really don't spend any time/effort suggesting they're for the middle class.

In large part, they believe that if you give folks / capitalists the incentive to invest and create jobs, that the market will take care of the rest. The trickle down effect is that it should create jobs for the middle class. When the middle class have jobs, spending goes up, which further fuels the economy.

Obama, and the Dems are all about entitlement programs, and finding rich people to tax. Only the very dumbest rich people will end up paying more in taxes, the rest will move funds (or themselves) off shore, and/or into tax-free securities...

The result, more recession, and more stagflation, and more spiralling Federal Deficit.

What is truly unbelieveable is that people here think that the sky will fall if people making over 250k get a 3% increase in their taxes. Never mind that we have a enormous budget deficit thanks to the previous administration. Never mind we are in the middle of an endless war in Iraq thanks to the previous administration. Never mind that we have a stock market crash due to the hands off approach to regulation the previous administration has. It all boils down to a 3% increase in taxes for people on this site. People who dont even make 250k themselves.

People who may be worried about losing their jobs if their business gets a 3% increase in taxes. let me tell you something, if your job is in that much jeopardy there are one of 2 things wrong:

1) You have not made yourself indispensible
2) Your company is not run very efficiently (unions, overpaid workers, too much middle management, etc)

The fact you believe 3% tax will save the country makes me laugh.

And please school me some more on how to run a business, since I must be doing it wrong.

I never said the "sky was falling" but it sure wont help anyone.

P.S. Let me tell YOU something, you have no fucking idea what your talking about.

it was in quotes. I was quoting the pundits. there is of course no way of knowing where we'd be if Clinton had gone after, and gotten Bin Laden before we were fully awakened to the possibility of terror on our own turf.

How soon we forget Pelosi getting caught funneling money to her husband's sinking business after pushing the proposal of campaign reform to prevent this exact same thing from happening blaming Republicans for doing it ... Hmmm ... good thing is she got caught red-handed AFTER it passed, so she will have consequences to pay after the 3000 other crooked politician indictments in front of her ... <rolls eyes>

Money corrupts ... PERIOD! Greed is non-partisan. ALL politicians are crooked!

That's apparently what the Republicans are hoping for.
From the AP
Quote:
WASHINGTON — When the Republican Party decided to coordinate expenses with John McCain’s presidential campaign, who knew it would be color coordinated.

The Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on clothing, hair styling, makeup and other “campaign accessories” in September for the McCain campaign after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joined the ticket as his running mate.

The McCain campaign now says the clothing will go to a “charitable purpose” after the campaign.

The expenses include $75,062 spent at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis and $41,850 in St. Louis in early September. The committee also reported spending $4,100 for makeup and hair consulting. The expenses were first reported by Politico.com.
Damn $75,000 wardrope from Neiman Marcus. That's more than the most people make in a year. She certainly represents "Joe Six Pack" well.

miss the part where it'll get donated to charity?

how much is obama spending for his own private cable channel to spew his advertising? (or was it satellite?)

http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/...oneymag/5.html net worth 1.3 million - yeah, he's an obvious union grunt...

100k higher than palin's

The article also points out that “a lot of Alaskans own a lot of land.” Both the Palins and the Bidens are well-off, but not as wealthy as the Obamas, or to a greater extent, the McCains. Plus, the Palins have five kids to feed.

I'd be fired if I took my kid on a business trip and put it on the company's bill. It's not business related. She should be fired!

I think it's equally funny how the prop themselves up as a champion of the blue collar/working class when they clearly are not. But to make themselves appear as such, the fairly openly and brazenly buy poor votes with promises of entitlement programs.

Then, when it's pointed out that they are actively trying to create more welfare programs they backpedal and put in a "work requirement"... to use your words "now"...
