TH350 not shifting out of first gear

Got a brand new rebuilt TH350, all fuilds are in not shifting gears, what should I be looking for

Broken/stripped govenor gear or stuck govenor valve. The govenor is located on the rear of the trans on the passenger side. It is under a round dust cover that is held on with a clip sort of in a shape of an "S". Modulator doesn't affect the 350's the way it does the 400's.

If it isn't the above mentioned it is in the rebuild.

hey are you talking about the speaker looking thing on the passenger side, cause that was leaking and tighten it, and it was after that it wouldnt shift

My bad the govenor is on the drivers side in the rear. The accumalator for 2nd gear is on the pass side. How did you tighten it, it is held in by a snap ring.

sounds like its jammed. if you it backed out the cover and you shoved it back in the servo could be stuck. as for the govener the gear could have sheard the drive pin, so becarful pulling it out to inspect.
