Default Got your ski/board trips planned?

I'm eyeing a trip for snowcat skiing in Fernie, BC with a couple of days at Whitefish Resort MT and Fernie Alpine Resort in BC thrown in. Didn't get out west last lear so I've got a big throbber when I look at the poweder pictures.

Other than that I'll be hitting up Caberfae, Nubs, and the woods out the back door of our family cabin. :)

Haven't been in two years due to family reasons. Was supposed to ski Banff during a work trip, but that got pooched.

No dates scheduled, yet. So far, I don't have any ski-convenient work travel plans during this winter. That should change by years end. If not, I'm considering an extended layover in France, on my way back from Egypt, so I can check out Grenoble. If the boondoggle gods don't smile on me, I'll use some of my 200+k ff miles and go somewhere. Probably visit friends in Missoula and ride Discovery and/or Powder Mountain-Lost Trail.

Also planning to let my 3.5yr old son try skiing this year.

No plans yet, but I need to make a trip out west badly. I snowboard all winter and have never made a trip outside of MI.

Some Colorado resorts are already open!

Money is a bit tight to go too far for awhile, but I believe our new yard is setup with enough change in elevation that I can build a decent run to practice a few things on.

Its so funny to hear people talking about making trips to Caberfae. It was literally in my backyard growing up (and I still never went there much)

Caberfae is way underrated. I like it 2nd best in the LP, just below Nubs. It's a lot of fun.

Hell yeah man, that'll be fun. Whenever I tell people I'm going to BC, they always nod and go, "Cool, Whistler, right?" So it's kinda fun to go "nope." The skiing in the Kootenay mountain range in eastern BC is the whip shit.

Spending a week in Jackson Hole pretty soon, shipped our boards out there already (airline costs are way expensive). My first time out west, this could ruin me.

Sweet, that will be fun. I'm going to ship my skis out west too.... easier and cheaper. Keep your boots with you for carry on though. Yes, you're not going to want to come back.

My trip is for 10 days starting in Calgary and road tripping across BC, ending up in Whistler. Going to be all snowcat with just maybe a heli day or two thrown in (keeping my fingers crossed for that one). It will be epic and I can't wait. We're going in early March.

Funny this thread was bumped... I didn't make it out to Fernie like I said in the first post in 2008, but that will be one of the stops this time.
