Default 460 mpg's

What kind of mileage are you 460 guy's gettin'? My '93 F150 needs more power, and it seems a powerstroke is out of the question(too much $).

um yea. I would expect at least 5-7 mpg depending how you drive. my last 460 got right around 5-6 and it was a 2x4 crew cab dually flat bed. the best I ever got with any big block was around 12 -13 in a chebby :)

I had a 95 3/4 ton reg. cab 4x4 auto 460. It would get a best of around 10-11 and dropped to about 9 towing.

Read it son! http://www.460ford.com/viewtopic.php?t=30378 There is no reason with a few upgrades you can't see 13-15 MPG's in your half ton and out pull a stock 1st gen powerstroke. Or it's a very easy swap to put a 7.3 IDI diesel in that truck.

I have a 97 one ton 4x4 with 460 and 3:55 gears. I get 10-11mpg around town and the best I ever got on the high was 13.5. I don't drive like grandma.

I had a class C motor home with a 460 in it. If weighed about 10k pounds on got about 5.5 mpg. It ran awsome with lots-o-power, it just loved fuel.

Just as a comparison, my 1968 Ford C8000 farm truck (13,600#), pulling my tri-axle trailer (5000#), loaded with my BDMT (6000#), gets about 9.5 mpg. Truck has a 572 cid Cat 1150 diesel.
