Default McCain giving Michigan to Obama

Maybe it's something I don't understand, but giving up because you know you can't win something is not a "quality" I look for in a president.

I think its a smart move. why fight a battle you will never win when there are other states in the balance?

They all do it.

Do you see Obama making a lot of campaign visits to NE or AK?

I'd like to think he would keep visiting and addressing the issues important to us. Not everybody is as interesting to visit as Ohio. :P

Did he make a serious effort in either state then just give up?

Ohio > Michigan. But seriously, Michigan is only one of 50, and due to the large percentage of hippies, union workers, and welfare types, Michigan has been putting its chips on the dems for years. even if McCain had really worked hard in MI its unlikely that he would have won the state over, and even if he had won it over, how much of a difference would it have made?

With a great economy Michigan voted Democrat. With the condition of the economy today do you honestly think they could swing the vote away from the Democrats?

fyi, who gives a shit? Ohio is only a temp. stop for me. as for this bailout saving the big 3, we will see. IMO, this is only a temp. fix, in a few more years they will be begging for more, seeing as they now know its there for the asking.

even an affluent community like west bloomfield hasn't been able to remain republican.

it's entirely probable that this November will not only see an entirely newly elected township board, but that they will all be ...

I agree with the sentiment that McCain made a smart move in evaluating where to spend his limited resources. *shrug*

McCain should have not made it a headline and just quietly stopped visiting Michigan .
I hope this will stop all the BS commercials now .
