Default What Track width does your Jeep have???

Planning on my axle swap of some full size Dana 60's I have into my YJ. During some pre setup measuring it looks like my total over all front track width, outside of tire to outside of tire is 80.625" and the rear will be 76.75". This is with H2 wheels. So I'm thinking this might be too wide and I might want to narrow up the Dana's a few inches. So I'm looking to see what over all track width are others running out there? Also is it best to keep the front wider than than the rear or just make them the same?

Why don't you measure WMS-WMS that way you take the tire width and back spacing out of the equation. More apples to apples comparison I think.

Unless you just want to know everyone overall width?

I will have measure that and get back to you.

Fair enough that makes since...My Axles are from a 1978-79 Ford F350 For WMS-WMS what I measured is:
Front 69.625"
Rear 65.750"

Leafs front? There is a easy way to build a 67" wms front with stock shafts but you would have to link it.

Yes Leafs for now...that is all the buget will allow for now. But do tell about this 67" WMS front end. How is this done?

85-91 kingpin or a 92-97 ball joint 60 with a 78-79 60 long side shaft. you could cut down the 78-79 short side but that axle is harder to find.

You can also use the newer axle cut down to like 63-64" wms and it will bolt in with the leafs, and do a Cab and Chassis 14 bolt (63.5" wms) You can respline the newer shafts for $65 though Moser Engineering.

WMS to WMS front 69"
WMS to WMS rear 67"

Outside tire to outside tire front 87"
Outside tire to outside tire rear 85"

I like the front wider than the rear because of slightly sharper turning.

67 wms to wms. if you think yours is too wide, could you use a deeper offset on the rim?
im going to a deeper offset on my rims to suck it in a little.
