It was a draw tonight.... Your own guy won by a little bit.

Neither changed the election tonight.

If he didn’t like how the debate was going, he would just talk over Obama or Jim Lehrer, regardless of what was being said. Don’t get me wrong, Obama was nowhere near perfect…but he clearly was the better speaker and had the upper hand on that debate.

And I don't know about you guys, but I take somebody who can’t or wont make eye contact as a weak person. At least have the guts to look a person in the eye while you are speaking to them, and even more so when you are debating them!
Obama has seemed like a better debater to me before tonight but tonight when he had to actualy state what he was going to do to make all this change talk work he can't seem to speak. Hmmm. You're no longer at a pep rally dude.
Go with the man who has a proven track record and has the know how to make things happen.

so far 67% of people in Michigan (over 4k votes so far) agree that Obama won tonights debate...but not surprisingly, this site says the opposite.

Ya hey, let the burbs continue to build their state of the art monster schools, and let the yuppies move back in town tax free in their condos and wonder why the difference. Segregate into a private school, get behind a gate too.

I don't disagree there. I'm a union guy, and I hold no ties to any political party...but I work with a few guys who are blind , regardless of the candidate or the issues. But same goes for the Republicans...some of my coworkers are stone cold reps because they are big into the church.

I just try to pick the lesser of the two evils every 4 years.

So the suburbs build and maintain better schools? That is part of the reason I moved to where I am, better schools. Why the hell should I not have the choice?

As for the debate, do these things really change anyones mind on who they are going to vote for? Before the debate began, most people knew who their favorite was, and that is reflected by who they think 'won' the reality show called a debate.

Me too - but I'll have to way go to McCain on the lesser of two evils this time. I'm for smaller Gov. I don't wan big brother in controle. This country was founded on us hard working people and we need to retain our power not hand it over like I see so many lazy people doing these days.

lack of specifics, a reliance on campaign-trail sound bites and an inability to answer a question directly by both

I liked watching the debate.

Why does B.O. have such little respect he can not call Senator McCain, Senator McCain.

Hey kid, when you get out of school and live in the real world for a while, have a child or two, let us know how that worked out for you, OK?

Thats called politics. They are politicians.

All they do during debates is try to figure out what the other said was ambiguous then throw a twist on it.

They both have the same title and were put in a situation of familiarity.

From the parts I watched and listened to, I think they both held their own. I did not watch the whole thing so I am still absorbing all I can get.

One thing I did notice was quite a bit of what McCain said was straight from speeches and campaign ads. Also, anecdotal stories. Designed to get the warm and fuzzy going on.

I think a lot of people abbreviate 'going to' as 'gunna' or 'gonna'

Our current president has trouble saying 'nuclear'

What's your point?

Mccain wasn't even willing to debate. Debating involves listening to the other, then responding, listening, responding, he was scared to debate obama, so he just babbled on and on over obama. it was pretty sad he couldn't make eye contact with obama, or even the camera he had there to address the nation. You see him try to make eye contact with the camera a couple times? it scared the shit out of him. He spent most 99% of the debate staring at the ground. He's a babbling fool, but i'll probably vote for him anyway, because Obama is a greedy socialist, and Palin will make a good president when john takes a nose dive in his soup

After hearing Bush in office for the past 8 years, I don't think any candidate should get any flak for their speech or pronunciation. But I did notice a few “gunnas” from Obama and a lot of “oughtas” from McCain...everybody has some little quirk. At least I didn't hear any "aks" (also pronounces as ask) from anybody...haha.
