Default 97 ford ranger prerunner

does anybody have any experience with throwing the fiberwerx or similar fiberglass fenders on vehicles? i was curious as to some pics or info on it since i bought the truck from a guy on this site it seems as if i need to take the cut off wheel to the inner fenders to get some more clearance....im looking at a kit to have 14-16" of wheel travel and i dont see how its possible unless i clear up some room to have the tires cycle up towards the hood...any info is appreciated...

1) this should be in the "ford" section...it'd get more reply's there.

2) typically glass fenders require the removal of the fenders/inner fender wells, though with some you can modify them to keep fender wells to prevent shit from being thrown into the engine compartment.....is this a 2wd truck or 4x4?

not so worried about stuff getting onto the engine but i bought the truck the way it is and it looks like i need to trim the inner fenders with a cut off wheel regardless of if i go higher or not....theres just no room for travel and its 2wd....is that your truck in the avatar?

the easiest way to figure out what you're going to have to trim is to put the truck on jack stands/hoist so the suspension is at full droop...then use a floor jack to push the suspension up (I use a trans jack or stand and lower the hoist)...mark where the tire hits, and trim away.

I don't have any pics on it, though I'm sure you can find them at dezertrangers.com. And more so, it's hard to trim for travel when you're not 100% sure how much travel you'll have and exactly where the wheel will travel since you don't have a kit on the truck...

thanks i appreciate it but i believe now that the inner fenders are left on the vehicle and only very minor trimming if any is needed when i put the long travel kit on it.
