profit.

here is a question for you guys. why do people hate it when someone makes a profit? is it a situational thing?

Obama is basing a big part of his platform on taking the profit "big oil" has made away from them. this is causing much joy amongst the simpletons. it seems to me like the point of working is to make profit.

Isn't this supposed to be in political?

At any rate.

I think it boils down to jealousy. Big oil has something no one else does in this economy - Cash.
Same applies when someone else makes a profit. Someone else thinks they don't deserve it, and wants it.

It boils down to that for me.

We gotta put the hate on someone. Otherwise the world will just have too much love. Then it just gets all.. Mushy.

Like I said before in order for the base of Obama and his people to get elected he needs a "religon" which is an enemy something people can relate to so by attacking the oil and coal industry. It gives him an enemy and it works out great with this human enviormental impact kick every one is jumping on. this gives the every day green peice peta hippie something to relate with. So he is working off the idea if you dont vote for me your bad for the enviorment he is like every other soicalist.
he constantly is trying to find an enemy for every situation. He has showed this before with his back bone of america speech and with his clinging to his gun speech. he molds for the crowd he is speaking to and since we are in the election with energy at the for front why wouldnt he mold to fit his funders ideals.

It's because many can never figure out what Step 2 is.

Honestly, I think the biggest problem is the word "fair".

What the hell is "fair". It seems to me that "fair" is a tool used by the weaker/less successful/etc. to bring the stronger/more successful/etc down and get a piece of their unearned pie. S'rsly...Look who says "THAT'S NOT FAIR" and you have a looooooooser.

What is "fairness"??? Well...someone making a giant profit while others starve...that certainly isn't fair! People need to give fairly and support their fair share of society... :puke:

Normally the folk who complain about other people making profit is due to their inability to do so.

Maybe we should have the gov't take the profit from successful companies to pay for the bailout of the failed ones.

And, thus, to continue your train of thought, they don't think it's FAIR.

Calm down Jim.

You need to understand that those of us luckier at the "lottery of Life" need to give back to help those who can't help themselves. Isn't amazing that you're made to feel like dirt for wanting to keep as much of your earned money as possible?

I thoroughly enjoy being punished for my success via the sliding income tax scale.

It is just one more step in the socialization of America. The government is taking over our businesses, the general population doesn't like anyone making a profit, nobody wants to work hard, more and more people are living off of government handouts, and we wonder why our economy is going to hell.

I have no problem with profits. Without profit, there is no incentive to start a business. Without business, there are no jobs. Without jobs, there is no marketplace. And so on....
