Got my trektop installed. Love the look, but compared to stock, the quality isn't that impressive.

back to the project side.

Got her running and out of the garage for the first time in over two years. Also got the 35's on the new wheels and mounted on the truck. Unfortunately soft 8's have too much back spacing. Tires rub pretty hard on the radius arms while turning. You can really see the front stretch from the side shot without the fender cut. Still on the fence about selling this thing.

More updates on both rigs.

Bronco has been trimmed up, on both sides. Picked up some cheap 36s for rollers/wheelers. Upgraded the brake lines front and rear with stainless braided lines from Jeff's. Need a new drum for the rear and to patch the line running to the back.

Also did some upgrading on the JK. New aluminum wheels, Level 8 Strike 5's. Liking them so far. Also ended up picking up a RC front winch bumper. Price was right and liked that it wasn't too bulky. My wife bought me a winch for my birthday. Just a harbor freight Badland's 9000, but for as much as I'll use it, it should be great. Also picked up some new LED's to replace the factory fogs. Next step will be re-gearing.

Updates on both Rigs.

Bronco is running and driving on 36" iroks. Still needs shocks and some brake work, slowly picking away.

the JK is now on 37 MTR/k's.

Picked up a built rubi 44 for the front. 5.13's e-locker, RCVs, sleeved and gusseted. Looking at re-gearing the rear right now, then getting the front installed.

WOW! to say BFGs are undersized is an understatement. The MTR's measure right at 37 1/8" off the truck. 35" KM2's measure 33 7/8", just for fun, the iroks measure 34 1/4", but are very worn out.

Much trimming to follow. I trimmed up the pinch seam before mounting the tires, but will need to trim fenders, running boards.... who knows what else.

Bronco sold. Little sad, but she went to a good home. Look for her tearing up silver lake with CUMMINS power next year!

I hate tapatalk... Just lost my entire post, so I'll make this brief.

Sold slow jeep that never left pavement (2007 unlimited with rubi front 37" Mtr-k's... Blah blah blah)
Bought fast sedan (cts-v)
Bought cheap 4x4 for winter beater, then dual purpose rig next spring (sport-trac)

Not sure what I'm going to do with the sport trac yet. First priority is getting it safe and drivable for winter. Maybe 5.0 swap and 1/2 ton axles next spring/ summer when I can park it for a while and really like my 37 Mtr/k's but might not be in the budget.

New whip

Thanks Kyle, that cruiser was one of the coolest trucks I've ever had. Totally gutless tho, and I just didn't have the time, money or ability for that matter to do a motor swap. I don't know how you guys get away with spending so much time in the garage, that's one of the reasons I sold off the jeep, Kids loved it, but my wife had zero interest in wheeling.... Didn't make sense to have so much money tied up into a pavement queen.

I got a stupid deal on the sport trac, but it has its share off problems. That's the same reason I've been looking for one, should be a good family wheeler, and won't have nearly as much money tied up as I did with the jk.

Default Teaser

Teaser of the next project I'll never finish!

I have a HP 44 front and 60 rear with 4.56s sitting in the garage already. Hoping to pick up a set of H1's from bigbchevy before he's sold out. This thing will be done on the cheap.... as much as any of these can be. Need a steering box and figure out if I can use the shocks I have, or not. If anyone has an IFS toy box laying around let me know. If it's ready for hydro assist, that would be even better.

I'm thinking I'll get as much mocked up as I can, then talk Andy into a work party in his barn.... get it knocked out in a couple of days if I have everything.

Funny you say that. I'll never have time to build or wheel it, so it's actually for sale right now. I want someone to build it, I haven't seen any real wheelers built yet.

I keep going back and forth on this truck. Every other day I change my mind. I would really love to keep it and have it built., Maybe the answer is to leave it Kyles all summer. Haha

I'll build it if you can wait a little. I have a b2 to build for the wife first.

Don't sell it.
