So providing these things happen, is there going to be a plan to do a trip up there sometime this winter?

I just got off the phone with Dino. We reviewed what has happened over the last year and where we are going. Trust me, he understands our wants and needs and plans to spend the remainder of this fall and early spring moving rocks. I told him when he has a pile of rocks ready to be placed, some of us will come for a day to help guide with the placement.

I have to realize that Dino had a major injury this summer which set him back at least a month. Our time from June to September included his busiest season during a time when he had to hire out the help to keep his track maintained. This place has huge potential and I am willing to give it the next 6-8 months to see what he develops. I ask you all to do the same.

Regarding charging for passengers. You can like it or leave it. He is running a business that has liability insurance. Every person who steps foot on his property is a potential lawsuit. Therefore, his business decision is that if I'm not making money off a person on my property, I'm not taking a risk of allowing them on my property. Which one of you who "owns" a business would dispute that? I may not like it nor I may not agree with it. But, the fact is, I can't argue that. I'm not paying the insurance premium every month.

So, my recommendation remains the same. Let's support the place as you can. Plan some snow wheeling there with your friends if you feel the need. Let's see what Dino comes up with for next spring. When something is in place, pics will be posted.

Jim

figure this needed to be on page 4 too

And RocRat, please don't hijack someone elses thread with plee's to "come here and see what we have" it's better than yours type of posts. if you have nothing to add to Dinos thread that helps him and us then...............

i have never been to o.s.t.c. but from what i'm reading some people don't understand what it takes to build a park as a park owner ins. is a big cost and if your buying the property that's another big cost and park inprovements are third on the list. just remember it takes a lot of hard work and time to be able to provide a good place to go wheelin and give people what there looking for in a park. good luck to o.s.t.c.

Ironman-
1. so it's ok for GL members to "hijack" everyone else's thread??

2. I only mention the other park, cause of all the whinning here.

3. I'm sure Dino can see that if he doesn't come around to the requests of our community, there are other places that will.

4. I know how hard it is to build a park, materials, fuel, manpower, etc., but at the same time, if nothing is done after 3 times with alot of $ from GL, then the community will find other avenues. It's not hard to work on "maintenance" of existing trails or adding to said trails, especially when equipment is "donated" for said work. A little goes a long way.

5. I hope Dino takes everthing to heart, hope he makes it, cause our community is on the loosing end on legal places to wheel in our state.

6. If you all don't want any comments that follow your thinking, don't post it and just make a phone call or pm's..............so just STFU right back silverxj

You Can Not Make The Arguement That They Should Not Charge For Money. Other Parks Around The Country Do Too!

Look you're preaching to the choir here but listen to what I said before. He will not allow ANYONE on his property if they are not paying a fee. He pays the bills and the insurance. Whether YOU like it or I like it, it doesn't matter. If his park was outstanding, no one would be bitching at all.
