Default Spark Arrestor

Other than a wire brush and some brake cleaner, is there an easier way to clean the mesh inside a spark arrestor? This is on a 2-stroke, so it gets a little oil buildup over the years.

No, just that when you look into it you can see it is kinda clogged.

Oxy/act torch. My current project (71 Suzuki two stroke twin 250) the right pipe was nearly choked in half with carbon and soot.

I hit it with the torch quickly let it burn and then go out, repeat several times. Then it was brittle enough to knock out.

I am sure it would work with the mesh just keep the flame cool enough not to melt it immediately.

What BJer mentions works well using a mapp or propane torch.

I will have to try the torch next time. Brake clean works, with the wire brush, just seemed there should be an easier way.

Brake clean and fire ftw.

Honestly, I have no idea if that would help or hurt but I love the thought of mixing stuff with fire
