I leave mine exposed - my thinking is that a cover will trap more moisture in than it keeps out.

ya i had that thought to. but as of right now the jeep will have to sit out side in the winter unless i can find a shop and what not. i dont want it to sit out in that weather. so i may jsut remove it when that time comes and reinstall quickly when i go wheeling.

Sorry I dont have one 4 sale ...here is my opinoin; I keep a cover on my winch, its from milemarker. Its made from neopreme (same stuff wet suites are made from) and have never had moisture or rust build up. I think the cover help more then it hurts it. If your truly worried about moisture/rust spray it with WD-40 then cover it up.

I don't think I have my mile marker cover any longer, I'll check though and if I do, it's yours.

I do use a cover on my warn and I hit the cable etc with a liquid wrench spray every time I unfurl it or it gets wet. I believe the cover has had a lot to do with keeping everything pristine.

Forgot...if you've not used this winch yet, stretch the cable first. Follow the manufacturers instructions and every time you use it, once you get home, unroll the cable again and wrap it up properly. It's worth the little bit of time in the life of the cable.
