Default 97 4Runner info

Does anybody have any idea what the gear ratio would be in a 97 4runner would be? After 5+ years of driving a 85SR5 I bought a 97 sr5 and am thinkiing about a 3" lift and maybe 33's. It is a clean very nice truck only bad thing is the lack of head room. The 85 had more head and leg room. Does anybody make a good front bumper/grill guard for the newer ones?

Take the VIN to the dealer and have the parts dept. And they can tell you what you have.

I had a '91. I am '6"5 and had enough room. Musta shrank them some for the 3rd gen.

They put the track for the power sunroof right where my head needs to be cost me about an inch of headroom. Jacked up truck last night to see if factory 15 inch wheels fit unfortunately they don't as I have a set from my 89 4Runner w/32's. Spun the driveshaft and figured out I have 4.10 gears so I guess I will keep tire size down around 32".

If you want 15's, you can get them that will work from Wheeler's, http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/ They are a great place to deal with. I have bought a few things from them.
