new pics: I added a rear rack (borrowed from sister's old bike ;) for panniers and the BB came. Now I just need that crankset from Scooter and I'll be all set.

nice work dude!

you are gonna have to grow some sweet facial hair to properly ride this thing, I suggest one of the styles found here: http://www.dyers.org/blog/beards/beard-types/

I will do my best to pick them up this weekend - all my spare bike parts are at the house in Canton.

so far...

bike (free) I fixed it up, probably cost about 30ish dollars in paint/bearings/wire wheel

engine kit (217$)

fuel filter, the one that came with the kit leaked (3$)

BB Adapter, needed because of the age of the bike (28$)

I grabbed my largest BB and a set of old ritchey 180mm arms for you today.

You'll need to find:
A sprocket that fits a compact bolt pattern you want to run (teeth-wise< I'm sending you a small one)
Crankarm bolts for a shimano square taper BB
BMX or SS chainring bolts (5 of em).

I just need to fing where tf the post office is in Howell now.

I haven't started my bike build yet, but I think I'm going with the 4 stroke Grubee Skyhawk kit rather than the 2 stroke chinese motor. A friend of mine gave me an old Murray mountain bike that I'm going to use as the platform. I'll start taking picture in the next few weeks when I get started.

Your bike looks great.

thanks for the compliment. I went with form over function in the case of the Chinese engine. I just think it looks cooler than the 4 stroke kits. It also is cheaper.

You should have fun, it's been a fun experience for me.

I stopped into TSC and they had those saddle bags, so I picked them up :)

thanks scooter. Are the bolts something I will have here at the hardware store or will one of them be left hand thread?

New pics w/ saddle bags from TSC:

oh yeah, good news, it runs. We pop started it by rolling it down the wheel chair ramp here at the store and we did laps around the parking lot. Not too fast, we only had two size 11's for braking power. It seems to start easily and run good. I am pleased. With it sitting here at the store, everybody asks about it and it takes old people back to the good ol' days. I am very happy so far.

here's a cheap idea for making a headlight. 1 cheap LED flashlight + 2 3/4" conduit hangers= headlight

also thinking about cutting a piece of sheetmetal out to put in between the two bars. I might paint like " Hardly Davidson " or something on it.

You'll need the right ones just for the sizr of the bolt head. Any bikeshop worth beans will have them sitting around for close to, if not, free.
