Default GPS, Please

Somebody please capture the ride in a GPS file (.gpx) and when you write about the trip - indicate if a stocker can make it through (or around) the obstacles.

It is as long as you are willing too pay for it. (get caught and try to fight the ticket in court) I would drive to the field office and get it in writing first.
They call them CON-servation officers for a reason.

i have a buddy who lives up there, he said its cool as long as no one is being stupid. he was just out there the other day pulling out a bunch of trucks that were stuck so he's going to hit the trails and check them out and let me know how they are.

you can definitely go no problem. There are actually a few stock vehicles coming including a stock tahoe. So your JK would do just fine. There are ways around every obstacle.

I hope that someone in this group has contacted the Forest Service to clarify the legality of this event and to make sure that the trail is in fact an ORV route. The power line is owned by Wolverine Power Co-op and crosses Federal Forest land and also some small pieces of private property. Their land management folks are aware of this event. They are concerned about rutting and erosion that is occuring around their towers. Just FYI...

They told me that at one time it was gated off, but now the gates have been removed and it is OK to drive on them.

Having a gate or not does NOT indicate anything about the legality of being on the property. The fact that the DNR officers are basing their decision on the existence or lack of a gate proves they could care less what the correct answer is.

Another great day of riding, getting stuck, playing and of course the best part of any day the eating. What a wonderful day and fun for all, even the kids had smiles on their faces... maybe it was the mud they really were smiling about. I am so glad to see that it is a family event. Every one was fabulous, and we really enjoyed meeting and talking to everyone. As for the buffet I was only one part of this everone pitched in and you are right we had a kick ass lunch. What could be better than tarps tied together, grills steaming with food aroma, and boxes for tables... we had it all... great and thanks to everyone who helped make it all happen. Looking forward to doing this again. I brought some fudge home so guess Gar didn't get stuck enough.
