I visit my GF up at Ferris every once in a while, is there any good places to wheel up there? I see Jeeps all over the place up there and have thought about driving mine up one weekend but don't know any spots.

Keep in mind, the seasonal roads in BR between west ave and 19 mile are usually referred to as the powerlines, because they do connect up with the powerlines in some spots.

My family lives in BR and I know all those seasonal roads very well. I plan on contacting the DNR to find out what the story is about driving down the lines, I see a lot of tracks heading in and out of them and I am not really sure if it is illeagal or not???

I will let you know what I find out.

Hungerford is actually the trails off the end of Woodward avenue heading out to hungerford lake.. The ones we are referring to are off the end of West Ave connecting over to 19mi.

I just called the Baldwin Ranger Station (DNR office for the Manistee national forest 231-745-4631) and asked about the legality of driving up and down the pole lines that cross Hungerford lake rd and Arbutus drive and stretches out to 19mi rd. They told me that at one time it was gated off, but now the gates have been removed and it is OK to drive on them.
