Default Our Mini baja car

this is the sae car that we are building this year. every year we have to rebuild it. just some picutres. our front suspension is going to have around 12" of travel and the rear is going to be right around 14" of travel. this car has to last 4 hours going over a motorcross track against 140 other cars.

I still can't believe you people use Heims on the suspension linkage.

We compete with other colleges in a race, theres a 4 hr indurance race, a Mud bog (replaced the sled pull fromk last yr) and there's a braking test which we have to pass along with a vigerous tech inspection in order to compete..

We had a fast car but our suspension guy was an absoute moron and handled like shit...either go straight fast or dont' go at all

caused us to finish crappy at comp even though we finished endurance

I would say that it's a good looking car but honestly it is about 10 years behind on the engineering standpoint. You need to develop real A arms, canted suspension, and so much more. The MTU team will whoop you.
