I believe Heiss Rd is closed.

Besides, Heiss Rd (if wet) would wreak havoc with a bunch of Avalanches - mud, mud, deep mud, and more mud. Skip it.

You have The Mounds in Mt. Morris, which are, again, mud and a lot of lurking body damage for Avalanches.

Nothing near-by. St. Helen (I-75, exit 222) is your closest Avalanche-friendly bet.

what's st. hellen like?are we talkin' like mud bog mud or just muddy trails?? are the trails too tight for the avy's? getting muddy isn't an issue with some of us . our last national event was in pigeon forge tenn. some of the guys went to coalcreek and got stuck a couple o times but overall ,i was a good time. we have over 30,000 members worldwide and not all of us drive pavement princesses.

Honestly, the best place for a big group of avalanches would probably be silver lake...I know it may be a drive, but its worth it...especially if somebody has never been there. Just be sure to have everybody air down their tires to 8-12 lbs.

Heiss road would not be a good spot for a big group of people, and the mounds are fun...but it is a huge mud hole. I have been out there in my quads, and its just not my thing...huge ruts and deep pits.

Kentucky or Tennessee would be your best bet...

Update on old heiss:

It has been closed by the county, though someone stole the sign. The farmer owning the land has planted over 1/2 the road (the blue bush side). Also, the land owner has had enough of rigs going through there, and has been calling the police on people. Last I heard, two people got arrested for trespassing/ other offenses over this summer while wheeling out there.

Ive been down it before, its fun, but short, and not worth it anymore.

is there any private land that people might let people on? I drive a fairly stock samurai, so Mud's not really my strong suit? I live in ann arbor, but regularily head down towards dundee on weekends.
