Here are the pics, the shackle reversal brackets ARE NOT DONE. They are going to be attached with tube and then I'm going to tie the tube to the front frame brace. Let me know what you think! Oh, and those uppers sucked last winter, I always came out of the school to a snow filled Jeep!

More updates! I purchased this week the SYE for the 241, disk brake conversion kit for the dana 60, some Alloy Axle Dana 44 U joints, HD anti-wrap spring perches for the 60, and a set of 15x10 Eaton beadlocks (only 140 per wheel!). I also had a friend CNC me some boomerang shackles out of 1/4" steel. I know the Eaton beadlocks probably aren't the greatest but for what I do i'm sure it'll be just fine. Pretty much got them so that I don't blow a bead at the dunes...which I have a history of doing. I'll post pics tomorrow of the shackles and stuff.

Okay, late on the pictures again...I ended up tearing down the rear end to find that it has 16 spline shafts so I went out and bought 35 spline shafts but the spindles are too small so I have to get them bored out or do it myself. I'm going to buy a spool so it will accept the 35 splines.

So far i've gotten the disk brake kit, spring perches, and front axle joints on top of what I had before.

Currently I have these on the way: Accel Optispark, NGK TR55 iridium spark plugs, 10.2 MM spark plug wires, the Eaton beadlocks, Solid differential covers...and i might be forgetting some things.

Anyway here are some pics of what I have and when I started tearing apart my rear end. I'll try and get more tomorrow. I have the drums and everything off of it, I just have to get the carrier and gears out.

Rear end on saw horses.

Before digging into it.

Gears...I need to flush it out because there's some sludge and stuff in it.

Brake kit with calipers, lines, brake lines and stuff.

Rotors

U-Joints

CNC'd boomerang shackles and sleeve and bushing

Anti-wrap spring perches

V8 mount kit

One of the seats.

I got you on the list for the 241 SYE kit, hopefully they will be off backorder in January like they said!

What brand motor mounts are those?

Just a FYI that rear is 63.5" wms and the front is ~68"wms so it will look retarded IMO

I would find a later model 60 rear or put the 8 lug parts on a waggy 44 front which would keep it narrower and match that rear 60

How do you know this? I'm pretty sure the rear is from an earlier to mid 70's F250. If I have to scrap it I don't particularly care because I paid 50 bucks for the damn thing.

Mounts are Novak. I can't believe they don't have any of those sye's for christmas or immediately following.

Here are some pics I just took of the axles sitting next to each other (I put the drum on the passenger side of the rear). They look like they are about the same width even with no knuckles on the front.

yeah i can tell right now once you put hubs on that front itll stick out more than that rear. yeah know a 14 bolt and 60/44 would look good under that heap. lol just joking anyways once i get my axles under my truck i might have to barrow your wheels and tires to figure out what size tire i wanna run. good luck with the rest of the build.

ps id work on getting that motor done and in first.

Cause I know way to much about axles

But the 16 spline shafts gave it away, I have one just like it also.

I would but my sye won't be there for the t-case and I'd much rather drop it all in at once. Plus if I get it on wheels I can roll it around to anywhere in the pole barn.

So what should I find a dana 60 out of? 78 f250 or newer?

Yup 77.5 or newer, since I am going to pass on it there is a ford van in the part out section that has a 60 rear with 32 spline shafts, and have read a 35 spline shaft fits with no machine work

Yeah, I figured that. But you'd think that they'd at least have some around.

I'm having flat top knuckles machined by a friend. They look like FSJ or chevy ones, neither are factory drilled and tapped. Do I have to run chevy brakes or ford brakes?

And what vehicles have dana 60's with 35 spline shafts?

6 bolt spindle you would need chevy brakes

Only semi float cam 35 spline, maybe a rare 35 full float. But the 32 spline 60 from late 90's vans and a few others have d70 sized spindles to allow 35 spline shafts.

Strange, I have a set of 35 spline shafts for the dana 60 I have now that are full floater. Must have come from one of the rare ones.

Well I measured the rear end with the drums on it and it measured roughly 66-67" wms but it's definately longer than 63.5" wms so it should work without looking ridiculous...Just makes me wonder what in the hell it's from. Any idea's?

Well, if I put the leaf springs on and had a pack of horses it could be some kind of make shift sled.
