I dont want money from the Government They want money form me.
O and screw sally may what happened to a free economy and letting the market decide. I don't want to give my money to them. Let them go out of business. I don't care about them they don't care about me and they don't have to. Let let the chips fall so we can finely move on, and start getting this country back on track.
O and Tell the FEDERAL RESERVE to stop counterfeiting money its against the LAW. Ok back to my corner

I'm not able to live the way I "want". I want to have luxury houses, and yachts, fancy cars, and to be able to lounge around and not work and travel the world. Does that make me “poor”? Or just someone does what he can with what he’s able to make?

I love it when i get people bring their car into my shop that drive newer cars then me, wear nicer clothes then me, better cell phone then me. Bring their car i nand want an estimate on $3K worth of repairs. Half the time they already have another shops estimate so they just want you to look at that vs their car to write a new estimate. Reason: Cause they need two estimates to give to the state for the state to foot the bill for the repairs. Because they are poor and can't afford the car/repairs. The last time i had one of these in my shop (about one a month) it was a 03+ Tahoe on 20"s.

You, Me, and everbody else got to foot that bill. And ever bill like it. I drive 17 year old vehicle, my wife drives a 15 yr old vehicle.....but they need their bling and dubs for their "New" vehicle even though the state pays for it.

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. Youll be living in the ghetto forever.
So I live in a ghetto?

Some of us cannot afford to live in $400,000+ homes. Frankly, I'm not sure I'd want to. My neighbors would not be happy with me.

No offense but from an outsider looking in, this statement sounds like you sat around for 2 years using your entitled unemployment, then when it was about to get ugly you started looking for a job and got lucky. Unemployment was available for 2 years, you didn't need to use it that long, however you were entitled to it so I see no problem with that. You also had 24 months to line up a new career opportunity, so if it didn't work out like it did, I would consider that your fault, not the society around you. It's not the great depression, you can make more at McDonalds than on an assembly line these days. Whether we like it or not there is alot of truth to that statment.

I'm not positive on this but if your plant was closed(divested, consolidated, ect) the gov(state, federal, someone other than you) will pay for CC college classes. In 2 years time you could have had an associates degree that wouldn't have cost you a dime for tuition/books ect. I still pay monthly for the degree that I earned(and subsequently am still paying for). The fact that people won't use a handout like that pisses me off. Our society is lazy, case and point stated above. I don't know your particular story and maybe that statement doesn't apply to you but I know it applies to alot of the other people I've met(electrolux, delphi, bentler,Meridian, Johnson Controls, Rapistan, Bosch, just to name a few). Welcome to the global market people, it was around in the 90's, we just didn't act until we were getting kicked in the nuts by foreign competition.

LOL

I am relatively sure that you bought your place WAY before the price run-up on houses over the last 10 years and thusly have a great mortgage. Try buying a house nowadays for 90k and see what it gets you. A friend of mine just bought one over in Wyandotte by the railroad tracks for 95k. Not the best spot to move into, but it was what he could afford....

My dad lost his job, and he's in printing sales (and, because of the webbernetz, printing is not a very profitable market right now).

He did not go on unemployment/welfare, but relied on his savings and a rental property, and made his own company. He is the sole employee and he found 3 companies that would hire him as a contractor and pay him half of his desired salary. He now makes 1.5 times what he originally projected and makes more than my step-mom and her 4 siblings combined.

...but I know...that's a rare story. Gone are the days when people could "be lucky to find something like that"...it was all of 3ish months ago...

No, there is no reason at all why anyone can't have that success. The only things holding them back are themselves.

Dear middle class,
Stop buying houses that you can't afford. 25% of your take home pay is what your mortgage should be. Thanks.

Love, America.

P.S. Vote Republican
25% of my take home pay doesn't even pay my rent. Fuck you.

Either he doesn't make money or it stupid. If he doesn't make much money then I can see renting . . if he does then he's throwing a lot of money away by renting and should be putting that 25% into an asset like a home regardless if it's the house of his dream or a complete dump to be fixed up, it's still better then paying your landlords mortgage for him.

Yep.

Actually, when I first bought my house I was probably paying over 25% if my income. But it was cheaper than rent so I decided to take my chances. But it I lost it (and I almost did a few times) I wouldn't have been crying for someone to do something to help me.
