there are some 2 tracks in the Twin lakes area, I have covered them before. There wasn't enough there to justify my gas in going again. In my experience, you pretty much have to go at least to M20 to get anything legal and worth your while. Locals could chirp in on possibly short mud runs, that most likely are on private land. The multi-county maps at gas stations have extensive detail down to 2 tracks, hills/marshes etc for $6

I know a few spots over here in fruitport thats a nice little run for local stuff. But like Upchuck said if you want a worth while day out of it then up towards white Cloud or Balding is your best bet.

Default Lighter trails for a CJ-8 group outing in Western MI?

Do you have more specifics on where the trialheads are in Whitecloud, Balding, etc.

I couple of us are trying to pull together a Fall Colors family outing consisting of a bunch of CJ-8s. So as you can imagine, we do not want hard core stuff.

Any details would be helpful. This will be in early October.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

On 20, maybe 3 miles west off 37 is a trail head on north side. There's an unofficial one at Woody's Tavern on west side of Woodland Park, 7mi/M37 junction two track could be one, on 10 about 3 miles in from the country line(s.tyntall rd/ Oasis Tavern) there's one on the north side.

There is nothing hardcore about any of it, unless you want to dive in to 4' deep mud pits
just west of Bitely that will swallow anything less than 37's.

We went on a fall color tour last year and was a pretty good time.

I could have a friend lead in the twin lakes area, mostly 2 tracks with some mild hill climbs, outs around all of the hills
