1997 VW jetta VR6 1000$ (Sold)

Pretty clean body on this 1997 jetta, a couple small dents, but not really any rust! 200k ish on the VR6 engine, the engine currently isnt idleing... it will rev out like normal but it wont idle, i think it is some kinds of sensor because it just stopped all the sudden! Also the steering rack needs to be replaced, it leaks about a quart of power steering fluid every 2 days, and the ignition switch needs to be replaced..makes it tricky to start its about a 15 dollar part!

This would make a great project car...body and paint are in pretty good shape!
We were going to put a roll cage in it and make a track car but money is tight!

Power windows
power locks
power sun roof
auto transmission
200k ish miles
Dark blue paint

Would trade for a jeep...might be able to come up with some cash if necessary!

what do you have? He would like a cherokee. But it has to be running and somewhat reliable! My little brother needs a first car so this will be for him!

You should be able to check codes with a scanner to see why the idle is bad; I'm guessing a failed IAC motor (easy fix).

also - is it the rack itself that took a shit, or is it a line?

As far as the scanner goes, i dont have one! And cant get it anywhere to have them scan it...

Good news, i turned the idle up to about 1400 and its drivable now, as long as you keep dumping pw steering fluid in it!
