Kwame plea deal any second...

"experts" on WJR are saying 4 months in jail, no pension, loss of his lawyer license, resignation from being mayor and 1,000,000 in restitution.

I'm down in the city and they are saying on the radio that it's going to be 1,000,000.00 restitution, `120 days in jail, and he can never run for public office again.

No, he doesn't want jail time. His license is gone.

Sounded to me like they are going to let him use the value of his pension to pay the restitution. Am I wrong?

Detroit police chief just "retired"

I guess Kwame gave 14 "Large" pay raises this morning, and everybody is retiring because their pensions are based on their final pay

Doesn't quite work that way. I read a little about this last night.

It's based on the last three years but you have to have been on the job for 8 years. So most of his "peeps" wont get large pensions.

I gotcha... I know I told you about the high up officer who just retired from the city so he could get his high dollar pension then was hired in the following day as a civilian and he made the exact same pay.

It will take years to undo all the damage done in Detroit from this guy.

probably not, you have to be employed by the city for 8 years to collect a pension (as far as I know), most of those appointees have been there just under 6 years. They may get nothing. I don't really know for sure. Ella may be different, she has a bunch of time in the Police Dept.
