But if you're gay and married and have shared benefits through one or the other's companies it does.

Uh, no. You can't just add anyone to your insurance. It has to be a dependent which is a spouse or child.

Actually, there are companies that offer plans that include a "domestic partner" which often includes a gay partner or a live in GF or BF. You just have to prove that the person is a dependent of yours. With my old company, you had to show that you were on a lease or a mortgage together and had a joint checking account.

You usually have to be living together for a certain amount of time. That's an exception, but you can't add just anyone.

She will rip heads in debates, and Biden knows it

She seems pretty tenacious, teleprompter or not.

I bet she could rip Biden and Obama a new one.

Being a good debater is one thing. A very valuable asset.
You can be a good debater and not be very knowledgable about the subject.
This is what we will see down the road.

To impress me, you not only need to be able to speak well, but you need to genuinely know what you are talking about.

What are you saying Pete???

We all know the Republicans are REALLY good at campaigning....it's the whole Governing issue that they seem to have a problem with.

mmmmmm never thought of it that way mmmmmmmmm

Even in college I was amazed at the art of bullshitting. Have seen through my corporate career as well. Plenty of people that talk a good enough game to get ahead with out knowing anything of substance.

She may be one of few. I think toolman was talking about the party in general.

Besides, she has only been there 22 months. In that time she has done some things that really stand out in the minds of Alaskans. I don't think anyone has really questioned her ability to carry out the duties of the office of Governor.

Heck, even Granholm and Bush had decent approval ratings at one time.

So what makes you think Obama is any better?

I am not sure Obama is any better. I am here to try and shed light on spin, using facts when I can find them and asking questions when needed.

Besides, should we be comparing Obama and Palin?

Obama does not have enough experience, yet Palin does? On what stage and at what level. I heard that Palin has never left the confines of North America. How does that help with dealing with foreign officials?

McCain is more of a political Washington insider than Obama. Obama has been in Washington for such a short time that a lot of people consider himself an outsider still, hence the lack of experience.

It all depends on what way you want to look at things and how much spin you want to swallow.

Personally, my opinion, Obama would give us a better shot at something new. He has a good idea of what it takes to survive and thrive in Washington, but has not been there long enough to be entrenched in the good ole boys way of political life. Will he succeed? I have no idea. But I don't see McCain being able to step away from something he has been centrally involved in for decades. I see very little chance for anything new with a Republican in office for the next 4 years.
