lots of good trails

cannt think of the name of the road

from the high school.

pull out of the school turn left. go through the light down about 5 miles. look for wildwood road on the right.go down wildwood road . it will start as pavement ans turn to dirt in about 400 feet. any of the trails off that road will be fun. dont travel them by your self as some of the trails have mud holes that are bottomless pits.

those trails willt ake you any where you need to go. look for wildwood scramble area. go past the first one. go to the second one. it will be ahuge opening. you will have to go up the road about 10 miles maybe. it will be the one as you take a gentle turn to the right. it will have to drives and a big grassy parking area infront of the road.

that will be the best for quads. take the trail to the left. go down it untill it opens up into a 3 way. take the left trail for for a longer ride.stay strait for a bunch of whooped out hills and trails. that will be conunty line trail. lots of fun. if you cross mitchel its a paved road it will be alot funner on the other side. if you take the right side it will loop around toa huge section of trails.

I already know about the cabin.

Realistically, I would head to Grayling for the day. There aren't enough (legal) trails between Gaylord and Indian River to make it worth your while, at least for a full day. If you like seasonal roads (lame) you'll be fine.

there are a TON of MCCT trails up in that area (including one that weaves back and forth over old 27).... goto the land-use / GPS forum and I posted some tracks in and around the Vanderbilt area.... there are some nice MCCT trails / ORV routes north of Thumb Lake / C-48 not too far from Indian River.....
