Default What do you think? XJ bumper

Well I just started a new bumper for a friends XJ. He wants a prerunner style with a stinger basically. He is not afraid of being diffent either so i have some freedom and we are going to run with it.

Also the bottom bar was a spare piece and didn't quite work out.... the ends were fubared to begin with. So i am going to bend up another one.

You need to wrap the corners or tuck the ends closer to the body.

It will get some corner protection but not a lot, He will soon be running 33's with some sort of cut fenders like mine. I originally had good corner protection only to find big tires can't turn fully stuffed with them there.

Yes it was a scrap piece and the plan is to bend another in a simular shap with out the arcs at the end, just keep it straight.

With just the single tube it kinda smiles, makes me want to weld a tounge on the side.

So basically i have created a great new mall wheeler bumper, they can make up some stories about how they bent theirs.

We are now thinking of adding a chin piece and maybe some removable sides that head back to the sliders.....

I like it, don't need to worry about bending the lower bar on the trail

Ok so i got it all tacked up and ready to go. Tomorrow i will pull it up and finish the welding. It needs a winch in the middle to finish the look if you ask me but that will come when he has the money for one. My guess is it will get a couple lights mounted in the middle for now.
