I almost bought a Trail Teams Edition one a few months ago. They are unique and would take some getting used to for me to drive. They are nice and make good power. I decided to keep my Taco because I liked the utility of having the bed.

I have only been out wheeling with one that was kind of a stripped-down one. A guy on here was working for Autoweek brought their test one along on a winter trail ride we did. Seemed to go quite well. I like the washable interior.

The bad: I see some guys are having problems with some shearing by the front coilovers but I think they are the guys that aren't afraid to put air under all four tires at the same time. Guys complained about having to run premium but you don't have to run it all the time it turns out.

I like All-Pro Offroad's straight-axle conversion one.

The biggest criticism I've heard is poor visibility - front and rear.

I spent a lot of time in an FJ Cruiser and I hate them. Visibility is terrible. It's worse than you can imagine and it comes with all the annoying things that make up a modern toyota. You can't really turn off traction control, there are lots of idiot features, and the rear doors are worthless. I would not own one.

I think the Hummer H3 is a much better vehicle, especially in Alpha trim, and it offers better visibility and more room.

I know you drove one much more than I did. I had no problems saying no to buying one when I looked at it. I would much rather have a used 80-Series Land Cruiser for the $$ than an FJ. I guess living in an damn-near all-GM town makes me have absolutely no desire to have a H3. I see them too often aound here and I really like having something different. Although I would take an h3 over the H2.

On second thought, I need to see an H3 in camo. That might persuade me.
