Default Power steering pump question

I recently purchased a new Sidekick power steering pump for my Samurai the pump did not come with the pressure release valve which sits on top of the pump, and my old valve leaks, can i just cap this hole or do i need the valve? Where can i find a valve the LPS cannot get one.

i welded the hole closed on mine and its worked fine for over a year. beware if you run tires over 31's your gonna need a cooler and over 33's and this pump sucks when aired down off road.

If you eliminate the relief valve and something restricts flow, pump go boom.

the only thing that would cause a need for pressure relief would be holding the steering maxed to the left or right which is fixed by stops.... so I say go for it and ill wheel with you any day!!!!

I've been looking for that pressure relief valve for over a month checked every junk yard on Dort Highway with no luck. I even called the Suzuki dealer in Traverse city and they couldn't even get the part, and PSC wasn't sure about the valve either. So i welded it and it's been working good but only time will tell.
