Default Huron Mountains near Big Bay

Any trail riding to be done around the Huron Mountains near Big Bay? I see that the Huron Mountain Club owns about 20,000 acres around there. Can you drive through the area or have they restricted and/or closed roads. Just talking about road riding not any hard-core wheeling. Thanks.

There is a ton of roads up that way. I camped at Big Erics bridge campground for 1 week 2 years in a row and still found new trails. Not much on the extreme side but very remote many miles of trails.

Thanks

Not a total stranger to the area but never been West of Big Bay before. Been reading up on M35, “Blind” 35, the Huron Mountain Club, etc. Thinking about leaf peeping up there in a few weeks. Looks like nice scenery with some history.

The hunt club is mostly gated off....I'd avoid trying to get in there.

Take 510 north out of marquette, hang a left on the red road and run the mulligan truck trail, once you get north of the yellow dog plains either take the triple A road or the northwestern and head up towards big erics brook. Another cool trail out there is "wildcat canyon" Make sure you have a winch if your going solo. There are some excellent trails near mt. arvon as well as around the base of the mt. arvon lookout as well.....

Gobbler's Knob is alright. That is North of the Yellow Dog Plains. We just went through there last week. Pretty much 2-tracked from Marquette to L'Anse.
