Lightbulb Twisted Trails (9/6)

Hey what's up everyone??? I had originally thought about going to Little Manistee and Lincoln Hills ORV park but it didnt sound like the best place to wheel at, so me and a couple other 4x4's are thinking about going up to Twisted Trails next Saturday Sept 6th. I will be there all day (maybe camp out if anyone wants to). Post, PM, or call me at (616)633-3581 if interested or want more details.

Peace!

**do you need a flag for twisted trails? if so, how tall?**

Where exactly is Little Manistee ORV Route/Lincoln Hills ORV Route? Can you post directions there from Silver Lake? Thanks.

Little Manistee and Lincoln Hills is right off of M-37, you know where that is? M-37 is Alpine Ave...not sure how familar you are with Grand Rapids and whatnot. This is my first time out with my Jeep so I won't be doin anything too extreme til I get the feel for her and the hang of wheelin'....you are more than welcome to tag along or meet me up there. Just lemme know.

Funny how you find the answers to alot of your own questions if you weren't so stupid and lazy huh? Don't know how I missed the huge post about the Sand Dunes for Labor Day weekend...lol

Typical newb/squid mistake

As a rule I think we mostly web wheel on the west side.
Goin up myself tomorrow am. Not sure where my base will be, depends on whether Nichols/Benton/Walkup Lake campgrounds are full.

Prepare to be over run with quads on Lincoln hills or anything close on the east side of 37.

Take the fire road sections at least a couple miles in off 37 to avoid all the whooped out sections. Whoops are fun on a motocross bike at 40, but not so much in a Jeep

Default Trails

Besides Silver Lake and Drummond Island, where else are there some decent trails and wheelin'? If I haven't stated this already, this is my first ORV build and my first time wheelin', but that doesn't mean I'm timid or scared...just means that I have a lot to learn, which I wanna do. All the work that's been done to my rig has been done by me in my average "run of the mill" garage, nothing fancy.

So, if anyone can shed some light on this subject or share any advice to a "newb" so to say, feel free.

Thanks!

There are some private parks, other than that nothing really challenging.
Best I've found are around Bitely in the natty forest and nw side of Big Star. Locals up nort like Liv2mx others probably know more.
Your state routes are going to be crowded this weekend. Main thing as a newbie, to avoid fines stay off the power lines, gas lines, single track bike and quad trails.
State trails are listed on the dnr website, us being restricted to routes, which isn't much as you'll see.

Twisted Trails sells flags, but if you have a S.L. one, that's cool too. The trails are mild to wild, mud bog and a scramble area. You're in for a good time.

I take it that they have each trail's difficulty marked with signs or in some type of guide.....or is it more of a surprise? lol

wdkdusters-- awsome...whatcha driving, that monster in your avatar pic???

jeepy01--yeah you should come along...you need a flag that hits a height of atleast 6ft, but if you have a silver lake flag already, then you are set
