Default My first take at bending tube.

Its not a difficult one, but considering this is the first real tube bumper I've built, I'd say I did pretty good. Almost perfectly symmetrical.

I used the hydraulic bender we have at work (Nelson Hydraulics) and then just a sawzall and 4 inch grinder for the cutting and notching.

I just have to put a couple more braces on it, above is all I could get done in three hours.

Well, even if you did, I probably wouldnt have been able to help you out very much really. Its hard for us to get away with giving price breaks. The owners are pretty strict about that stuff.

Looks pretty darn good.

If it were mine though, I would add another bar across the middle somewhere to connect the big bend. I don't know why, I just would.

Yep, I plan on doing that, along with two braces that go from half way up the main hoop, down a few inches back on the frame, to help support it incase of a hard impact. Just didnt have time that day.

Thanks guys, I'm going to do a simple cage over the cab sometime, and this gave me an taste as to what I would be getting into. I think I'll have fun with it

I did add a bar from each side that I used to mounts some KC's on. Should give it a little support as well. Need to get my tank filled so I can finish it up.

Yeah, the first one you did is what I plan on doing. Plus two that connect the main hoop, from around the crossbar, to the frame about 6 inches back from the front crossmember.

Tank is empty on the welder right now though.
