1. It's not hard, just watch a video on the gospel of Matthew and the light will turn on.

2. that was perfect!!!

I got witnesses for you Pete, they wrote down what they saw with their own eyes. If you ever want to read thier testimony, let me know.

Military example: There were eye witnesses to events. There were written records of the events. There are outside souces to verify that the battle happened. There is a site that you can go see today and put the pieces together.

Biblical example: There were eye witnesses to events. There were written records of the events. There are outside souces to verify that the battle happened. There is a site that you can go see today and put the pieces together.

What exactly am I missing? You don't have a full understanding of what the Bible is my friend.
lets get back to that simple quote...

extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. the milk thing is not extraordinary. the things in the history text are not as extraordinary as the supernatural things in the bible. Sure, there are even some things I would believe in the bible based on first or even second hand accounts. For example, Jesus gets pissed at a fig tree and curses it, you know what, I'll believe that without any other evidence but the bible. That is not rising from the dead. Do you understand the quote? A man rising from the dead is at the extremely extraordinary end, milk and figs are at the opposite end.

Jesus' "extraordinary claim" of being resurrected after 3 days was proven by the "extraordinary evidence" of there being an empty tomb after 3 days and of him being seen walking around and talking to people. Some of these people were so moved by it that they dropped everything and devoted the rest of their lives to telling people about it. It was so "extraordinary" that several book were written about it and some of those books still exist today. It was so "extraordinary" that some people who saw it refused to recant their testimony of what they saw and were put to death for it. And it was so extraordinary that were still talking about it 2000 years later.

Is that all you can say about it or is this just filler while you search the internet for information written by other people that you can cut and paste here?

Brother, I do understand you. I understand that a resurrection is far more difficult to believe. But we have to analyze those who testified to the events to determine their credibility. Further, to what degree of evidence would you find sufficient to prove such an event?

I'm in for the brew and Bible, but you have to wait until I'm back in Flint (around October [it's a heck of a drive from Kzoo]).
