Default Battery box vs hold downs

Just a thought abut installing a battery box under the hood.

Pro's
Battery and terminals are more out of the elements
ALOT harder, if it comes loose, for terminals to come in contact with sheet metal
neater appearance?

Cons
have to remove a cover to get to battery
may require slight modifications to fit in stock battery tray
????

Battery box is a better setup in my opinion. I plan on putting one in my truck.

ok, I'm not being a smartass, but what is there to fly around under the hood? I've never ran a box, and have never seen the real purpuse unless the battery is mounted out in the open like in the bed of a truck or in a tube buggy or something. Seems like a waste in a engine bay

It's more like I either need to buy holddown etc for the battery, or buy a box for the same price.
The box would make it a little neater

I ended up with standard holddowns as all of the marine type box's i found all needed to be accessed from front and back to open them, not hinged on one side

in the event of the factory brackets breaking, i've always used ratchet straps, haven't let me down yet
