finally getting my truck back tomorrow. they determined that the premature failure wasnt my fault. apparently it was a defective part involved in the rebuild that didnt allow the trans fluid to lubercate the moving parts, they might be feeding me a line on this one but it dosnt matter to me because they are fixing it on warranty. unfortunatly it hasnt been pushed through too fast and i havent driven it in over a month and only seen it once since. really anxious to get it back,

got a job last week going to start making some money. im looking to gete a brushguard or possibally build a replacement bumper, and get the LS unit working propperly. i think im going to put more emoney into my three wheeler for several reasons.
1. its Cheaper to run (gas) and fix
2. its dosnt get stuck as easily and easier to recover when stuck
3. if i get a trailer for it i can use eit alot more often
4. Its faster than the bronco
5. Finally its built and designed to take the abuse i put on things

i had the diff serviced, about a $50 job, for a customer. i found out i have a cheesy plastic diff cover and i cant find a decent one anywhere. i also put on a neew fuel pressure regulator wich helped out alot, but i also found out the trans shop ruined my one eand only O2 sensor so i have to replace that and put a new muffler on it before it will be running right again.

i know i make alot of lists but my currenet priorities include
oil change
O2 Sensor
Coil spacers
bumper or guard
Lights-only two
fix limited slip unit
shocks

I started a brakes and a auto Heating and cooling class at Oakland CC. so i bought pads to do my front brakes. after tearing it apart i found that they wont let you do your brakes without rebuilding or replacing either the caliper or the cylinder. so i ended up buying two rebuild kits. then i found out that my rotors were so warped that to get them straight took them out of spec, so... i ended up buying two rotors. in all i spent $125 on brakes.

ill be doing my rears next, but i have to replace both axle seals, both cylinders, all the hardware and the shoes. i hope the drums aren't scored, and i hope they are in spec. so i don't have to replace them too. that wont be cheap. i still need to replace my coil and O2 sensor too.

on the up side i bought a brush guard from 88mudder and i have all the new bolts and some lights to mount on it. it will also give me a place to mount a CB antenna. i plan on having that mounted up in the next few days. then ill do the coil spacers at school, then ill work on the CB and getting that rear axle from DeathByPSI.

so my buddy's dad owns some property outside of town and on the edge three pieces of land come together. in that area there is a swamp with a small off road track going around the swamp and trough in the dry areas. we intended to go to another place but we weren't able to get a hold of the land owner. so this track is primarily for dirt bikes and four wheelers, but since his dad has an equal share in the track we thought it would be ok to go there with out trucks, it was just the two of us. so we asked one of the other partial owners, who has let us go back there before, and he again cleared us. we didn't contact the other guy though because we didn't think he was home. so we go through this track about three times and out of no where this guy comes barreling up the track in his brand new f-250. he we all get out of our trucks and he starts yelling asking who we think we are. my buddy says that his dad owns one third of the track and that the other land owner had cleared us and we weren't aware that he was home. he being in a state of irate anger pulls a gun out of his pocket and while pointing it at us tells us that he brought it with him to shoot out all out tires. both of us were a little alarmed that he had a gun but our first reaction was to identify it, it was a foreign pos. while holding us at gun point he informed us that he was liable for anything that happened on that track. the first thing i thought: isn't my buddies dad liable every time you ride your dirt bike on his part of the track. in the end he put the gun away, we apoligised several times and left to go talk to third owner.

what do you guys think?
was i in the wrong or was this guy with the gun in the wrong?

Ok pullin a gun on some people driving on a off road track is a little over the top if your askin me! Do it in somebodies front yard then OK I can see that!

Sounds like a simple and honest lack of communication. Honestly I prolly would have kicked the guys ass after he put it away for just reacting that over the top, but I have a bad case of "big guy" syndrome.

i'm not too happy with how th brush guard fits, its no ones fault, and i'm having a little difficulty figuring out how to mount it in a sturdy fashion. i met a new friend recently and i think i might try to build a bumper for the front with his help, and sell the guard. that way i can fit my 6" kc hilites on there instead of the off-brand lights i would have has to use to fit the guard. i think ill be able to fix the crack in the frame soon too.

yesterday i pulled the coils off to find that the spacers i built need to be re-cut, since the hole isnt big enough. i got them cut bigger ans should have them on tomorrow. ill post pictures if it makes much of a difference.

i got the coil spacers cut right but i think im going to hold off. i put them in and they did a lot more than i thought so nows not the right time. one of my spring pockets gave out the other day though. i have it parked for now. trying to figure out the new brackets, shackles and mounting bolts. now i got most of the old list done so now:

replace rear spring hardware
patch frame crack
rewire tail lights
