Well, maybe I've been lucky with the 2 high mileage 2.9s I've had. They've ran so quiet that it was the injectors I heard. I replaced them on the one with newer, slim body, injectors and the noise went away. The other one was definitely the injectors as I took a pipe to it to listen and it went away on a single cylinder when I unplugged one. I replaced the injectors on that one as well with some low mileage ones and it greatly reduced the noise. Maybe mine were maintained better before?

Well, I always had good oil pressure. I usually put 10w40 in them. I also used a good quality thermostat. The one I ran a 180* on. I also ditched those crappy mechanical fans and put electrics in. Maybe thats what made the difference for me. I did some research and yeah, I guess a lot of these do tick really bad.

Good tip I guess. Run 10w40, a slightly cooler thermostat, and get some electric fans. I used to beat the living crap out of my 2.9s. They over revved a lot.

Hey Jdc, let us know when you find out what was wrong with yours.

I dont think you will have any luck converting a 1350e to a 1350m,never seen it done and after having a couple apart not sure how you do so.

Instead just follow this step by step and get yours fixed in 20min.I did this to mine and has been flawless.
