long story short. i'm trying to buy a house and this comes up.

someone got ahold of my credit union routing # and SS# and racked up $135 calling live links date/sex/scum/POS chat line.

i went through my check book copies and found two blank copies that happen to fall between this date range of the checks i wrote before and after the offence dates. so i think it was some i or one of my kids know.
looks to me like someone that was in my house (invited i assume) took two checks out of my check book and copied my SS# to do this. the check book and SS card were both next to each other in my computer room.

with all the porn anyone could ever want just a key "stroke" :teehee: away, why the hell would anyone call this place anyway?

this all happened between 1/29/2010 and 2/2/2010

the phone number that made the calls is 231-683-5484

is there any way the hounds of GL4X4 can sniff out a name associated with this number in the date range above?

it's the only thing on my credit and this $135 is hitting my score for 75+ points. so far being reported to only two of the three reporting agencies.

the worst part about all of this is if i find out it's someone i know. :(

the police report has been made (officer Sanchez is schmokin hot!:naughty:) and i got some info from live links but not a name associated with the cell #. the hotel they called from did hit and i got a date, time of call and the last four digits of the account generated on the scum site but that's it so far.

have an old school fax? set it to auto-redial that phone number :p

or call it from googlevoice to see if you recognize the phone holder?

go through your kids' cells to see if they have that number in their contact list?

A lot of times the police departments are going to do very much about identity theft. It isn't a high priority crime unfornuately. Removing the information from your credit report is also sometimes a nightmare. :( Additionally the porn site is unlikely to deal with you or help you.

Does the telephone number you listed still work? Have you tried calling it? I know that is an obvious question. Will the hotel tell you who rented the room during the days the calls were made?

the porn site did help some and called me back within five minutes of when the said they would.
i called the offending number and the guy that answered said he has only had the number for less than a year. i made small talk long enough to know i did not recognize his voice. so, i assume the number has passed multiple times since 2010.

i would think there has to be a trail of some kind to trace a registered name to that number in January of 2010.

$135 is not going to stop me from doing what i want to do. i just want to find this POS that came into my home and ganked my shit.

Forget about getting vengeance if the kid had any sense he has dropped the phone or been evicted or such. You would probably end up screaming at someones grandmother or something that is linked to the new line.

Pay the $$ and get your score back up. Rotate your account by closing the one and opening another through the same credit union. Tuck your new checkbook in a safe place like in the computer room/office that can be locked when people come over.

For the heck of it.
