i had the exact same problem, in fact i called novak where I got the adapter and I kept telling them that it was not going to fit in any position, they swore to me it would. They told me the yoke needs to be above the pan, I moved it to that position and thought for sure it would not work but when I mounted everything up, the way the offset of my axle, it did actually clear. So the drive shaft just misses the pan as it comes by. You can fit a piece of paper between the driveshaft and the pan, but that is about it.
looking at your first picture looks like the dana 300 still needs to go up one more hole.
ask lowlock for a picture of his setup. He's running a 2 peice driveshaft and it has about a 1/4" of clearence all the way around. I think his adapter is slightly longer or we clocked it up higher for him.
anyone have a stock cj front drive shaft that i can play around with to check clearance?
