Sometime late last summer I was talking to Jim about modding his jeep and it snowballed and somehow I got in the middle of it. before I knew what was going on I agreed to build his jeep over again pretty much. The goal was lots of strength and a nice cushy ride while providing clearance for 40's in the future.
Hitting an unsupported cross bar is not exactly awesome...does look like a work on progress in this pic, so it may have continued to something more solid
Got my wiring figured out. We traced it back to the steering column. I had bought a tilt column but hadn't wanted to take the time to mess with it but what the heck, let's give it a try. We swapped the steering wheel & put it in. Zing, problem solved!
So, the setback added my tilt column and intermittent wipers. :thumb:
Your description led not only me, but others as well, to read it as you swapped in the new column but had to swap on your old man steering wheel (with the little turning knob I'm sure) to get everything to work. oke: We'll call this one a draw. Now get to work so I can get this pile all scratched up in two weeks!
No asshole, I changed the steering column because of the turn signal/brake light issues. While I was at it, since I was installing a new tilt column in the jeep, I swapped over my Grant steering wheel to it.
How hard is that to understand? sheesh...........
Not hard at all since that's what I said to begin with. I said you put a new column but it wasn't chrome like your old one. I wasn't speaking of the steering wheel. It was a joke about your bling mobile. Reading is indeed a lost art.
See, that's where as mrgreen would say, you were rong! The old one was not chrome, only the Grant steering wheel that was attached to it and subsequently relocated to the new one.
I think we are at the point where pictures are required.
