I just heard the quietest helicopter fly overhead. It sounded quiet like old steam engines. There wasn't a long drawn out approach or fade into the distance like the typical hospital flight care copters that fly over either. I can't find anything comparable on YouTube. Any of you military buffs got some audio of quiet helicopters or do they not exist?
Has anyone seen my elertic rc copter? It's a 1:1 scale model. That fuck got out of reach of radio control, it has a payload of anthrax and gay porn. Sure would like it back.
You'd be surprised how quiet helicopters can get. I watched a Blackhawk take off across from Baker College in Flint. Heard it start up, watched it rise and hover for a second. Turned 90* and went nearly silent. It was loud enough that we had to nearly yell over it, and then I could easily hear the person next to me as it started to leave.
Awhile back they were working on this, but shelved it due to "cost"
It was touted as being able to fly 180mph sideways! Silent and the radar image of a humming bird.

It is getting close to fall, ive also saw a lot of helicopters flying around lately, I assume they are looking for pot growers and whatnot, maybe not who knows. Also saw a few military choppers around the airport too up here, some are quieter than others ive also noticed.
Chances are it was either a UH-60M, their blade design helps cut down on rotor tip vortices which are the primary cause of the noise you hear from helicopters, or there is also the possibility that it is one of the new UH-72 Lakota's, they are super quiet and are a four blade system which also helps cut down the noise.
