We are getting new service today and trying to decide who to get. Really like sprints unlimited. Thats who we have now but not sure the service is gonna be good around here.
I have ATT and get service just about anywhere I go. It is a little spotty at our cottage near higgins lake but gets better as I get closer to the lake. Just have to take phone calls outside.
My GF has sprint. She drops calls all the time and has crappy service even in the city areas. She has a Galaxy S3 and can't ever get 4G.
If you're mostly in a Metro Area, tmobile is great. Unlimited data everything. My speed tests around the Detroit area are 20-30 meg down. Out in the sticks it's Sprint slow though.
My best friend is a commercial airline pilot and won't use anything but Verizon. Due to his occupation, and the related travel, he can test coverage better than anyone I know. I don't recall the last time he tried AT&T, but it was surprising how many areas were not covered, and these included areas that were very well populated. Unfortunately, Verizon knows what they have and there is a premium to be paid for it.
I know plenty of people that "make do" with the others, particularly AT&T and Sprint. My wife is on a T-Mobile pay-as-you-go plan. Data is horrible west of Grand Rapids, and just spotty altogether, but it is cheap. A coworker is less than thrilled with Boost, but now I can't remember if it coverage is lacking everywhere or just at their cabin.
I have had verizon for 10 years now. The only thing that is keeping me at this point is I am grandfathered in under unlimited data. If I lose that they will lose me as a customer.
don't change your phone or anything then, ANY change and they will force you to . I needed a new phone, so I had to sign another 2 yrs, I got less data, same everything else for 20 bucks more a month. Totally got the shaft on that one, I was pissed. However the service is the best you can get up here or anywhere IMO.
I have had Verizon for decades. Excellent coverage, but I dropped them last year because they dropped unlimited data. I would have had to pay for my own phone to be grandfathered into the unlimited plan. I switched to Sprint. They have unlimited data plan. Coverage isn't as good as Verizon. You will get 4G anywhere in the city and along major highways. I got my samsung S3 from them for a penny through Amazon. Check out Amazon cell phone page for deals.
I carry AT&T and Verizon (personal &work). I prefer the speed and reliability of AT&T (Apple 4S, Razr Maxx). Both have unlimited data and my old iPhone operates faster.
Sprint in west michigan sucks (don't know about their LTE speeds) but their 3g speed is terrible, i live really close to us 131 and have full bars but internet speed is slow... like 500kbs slow
Well we went with Verizon. And you can tell which phone...
Pretty happy so far. Just hope I don't go over the data. We have NO WiFi to jump on right now... thanks for the input. I had zero to one bar of 3g with my sprint phone. I have 3 bars of 4g lte in my GPAs basement with Verizon and pretty dabg fast
Good choice with verizon, My work phone is sprint and the coverage is pretty on/off in places. I dont think iv ever dropped a call with my personal phone thats verizon.
Tmobile $60/month Prepaid on a Nexus 4. Used to be great, has been steadily getting worse. Got really bad about 6 months after ATT merger failed. Service at my house is getting to be deplorable.
I had AT&T and am now on verizon, I travel a lot for work (around the state and across the country) and never have coverage issues.
