1,000 miles from home,

Sump pump failure from electrical issues = flooded basement.
Luckily i have tomorrow off and am now flying home to clean up the basement i just finished remodeling this spring :(

And my homeowners policy actually has a specific exemption for sump pump related flodding. Yee ha, going to have a talk with my agent on tuesday.

Take it from someone who had a similar incident this year and had to pump 1000+ gallons out the basement.

Two pumps in the sump, at different levels, wired to different circuits. And one brand new one in the box sitting on a shelf next to it as back up now.
