I'm regearing my rear 60 and there was an oil slinger when I disassembled it but the rebuild kit didn't come with one...how important is it for me to run that in a low pinion rear? I only ask because I fucked up the old slinger when I removed it.
I wouldn't run without it. I would bet that the front pinion bearing would be toast in short time, even being a low pinion axle
Edit: under normal street conditions I would say it's not as important because the axle rarely tips. Offloading as soon as you get on a hill without the slinger your running a dry pinion bearing
