Locking over the CAD

I have been looking at replacement options for the CAD on the front of my 2500. Posi-Lok is an option, however the also make a permeate kit to just leave the axle locked together. I like this so when the wife drives the truck, and might need 4wd, she only has to pull the shifter, and not fool with the Posi-Lok.

Are there any downfalls to just locking the axle in all the time? It is a V10, so the millage already sucks. It will be driven on the street and for hauling purposes, no offroad.

Thanks.

Fixing the system correctly also yields that result. Mine still works.
