I have an Aussie Locker in my D30 and it has gotten me thru a whole lot more ugly stuff that I would not have even tried with open diffs. I don't even notice it until I engage my front axle (Posi-Lok). In addition...it was really easy to self-install.
Best thing I have done to my Jeep. Rear is still trashlock. I went places in one attempt and a dual locked TJ had to attempt more than once, and a Cherokee w/ unlimited slip and a TJ w/ open/open could not even get close.
It is "almost" unstoppable now, and the only thing you will notice is a little clicking when turning in 2WD. I kinda like the sound, makes me remember it is there in case I require it. :thumb:
I've got one in my 8.8 and I like it. I can here it click and clack occasionally and every once in a while I get a really good pop but now that I know the sounds, it's no big deal and it works well offroad!
I just installed one about three weeks ago in my dana 35 in my YJ. It was $249.00 shipped to my door, and probably the best money I've ever spent on my jeep. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to put in and the only time I notice it on the road is when I turn very slowly it clicks. Off road it works amazing!!
Any of you guys locked in the front DD on the freeway? I work a day or two a week (sometimes more) down in Farmington Hills and some days I can't avoid the freeway if I am short on time.
My aussie locker came today:woot:
only took 3 days for shipping with UPS ground:woot:
putting it in on Saturday

Does anyone have experience with these lockers in the snow? I'm thinking about buying one for my D30, but I'm worried about the locker not ratcheting when the roads are somewhat slippery.
Well, started my install today. Got the axle apart. all the side gears and spiders are out now. Having a problem finding new thrust washers, old ones are worn out. went to 3 autoparts stores and they didnt have any. Going to the dealer tomorrow morning. I woulda had the thing all put back together too.
But all in all, it took me about 2 1/2 hrs. to get where i am now, rotors stuck bad, and i changed the t-case fluid and front diff fluid.
I had an Aussie in my d30 on 35's and loved it. Survived two broken shafts even. I didn't use 4wd much in the winter at more than 30mph because it pulled a little, but it was worth it.
I currently have one in my front 44 with no problems with 36 SX's
