Let the fun begin. Loved his speech. Americans before government, America before foreign countries. Awesome!

I love how he highlighted Obama's absolute failure as a President with Obama standing next to him.

Good. Obama's legacy will be one of incompetence, corruption and the attempted destruction of our country.

I like how Trump has basically made a mockery of their pen and law signing process. His grandkids are pawing all over the tray of pens, Trumps not switching out pens and just blowing through the documents and the politicians around him are gnashing their teeth about him not using dozens of pens.

edit: annnnnnnd pens are being passed around. One pen got stuck back in the tray and reused for a different paper. Paul Ryan at the end had one of the pens in his hand that was used and just left it on the table.

Hopefully a lot of their stupid processes get broken in similar good ways.

It amazes me how polarized people are on Obama's success and or failure as a president. I see people on facebook or other social media outlets who think he was the best president ever...and then of course your opinion is of the complete opposite, but just like everything else in this shithole country lately, no one in the middle who thinks he was satisfactory with a few mistakes....

I'm so annoyed today reading all the special snowflake crybaby bullshit all over....but then again, if I'm going to complain about that, I have to at least admit to being partial annoyed with people not considering that Obama could have done some good things too....

This isn't directed at you personally, as I do fall more into the camp of disliking obama and his actions than liking them....I'm just frustrated with how polarized we are and how badly people are digging in their heals and arguing/disagreeing/halting progress, etc.

I agree with you completely. The division in this country is appalling and I genuinely hope that our country starts healing now.

Time to just let things go and move forward.

It's annoying me particularly right now with the folks on the left side on social media today.

I think he was satisfactory with a few mistakes.

I think that Obama would have been considered a better president if expectations for our first black president were not so high.

About the biggest part of his legacy will be how having a black man in the White House uncovered a lot of racism that existed in this country, but kept under wraps.

I'm mostly irritated about a couple things;
- Apologizing for our country's high standards to the rest of the world.
- Acting like a pussy drawing a line in the sand and then backing away from it.
- I think he has greatly increased the racial divide in this country.

Which is exactly what Trump will likely do.

That, and not really putting our country first. Maybe he did, but it certainly didn't seem like it.

In a lot of cases he seemed crass with no class. His rant about police brutality during his speech at the Dallas Police memorial comes to mind. Just not cool.

All in all, I didn't agree with his politics but hoped the best for him. I didn't like how I felt my way of life, beliefs, and patriotism seemed to be under attack.

As for the facts, I think he slowed progress, but things did improve. He made some good choices, and made some bad ones however I believe his bad choices were more prevalent than the good.

I don't think he's the worst president, and he's definitely not the greatest. I think in time other than being the first black president he'll largely be forgotten about.

But we all digress. This thread is about PRESIDENT Trump moving forward from today. Not Obama's successes or failures.

My impression of his inaugural address is that someone need to tell him the election is over and he won. It sounded to me more like a campaign speech than an inaugural address.

It also came across sounding like a bunch of slogans and sound bites. Maybe someday he'll learn how to use paragraphs.

You sound like someone that got their opinion of the inauguration from Lester Holt.

My opinion is all my own. I didn't see or hear anyone else's opinion.
