Default Amazon Firestick

Is anyone running KODI on a firestick?

I'm looking to learn more about the capabilities in order to get Sporting events via only internet and not having a TV service provider. Seems that a cable provider is a requirement for most all internet streaming options that I have found.

The Firestick requires an internet connection in order to stream content. Using Kodi you will be able to access sports events.

I don't use Firestick though, I use Chromecast.

I do, but I don't use it for sports. Mainly just movies and TV shows.

You'll need at least 18 MB internet to get it to work reliably.

Get an HDMI extension cord to get it away from the TV to keep it cool.

You'll have to download some extra extensions to tweak the buffer and cache settings on KODI to get things to play smoothly as well. There are plenty of YouTube videos and tutorials online that cover this.

I started out with the Firestick, but had buffering issues. I have since upgraded all my TV's to the FireTv and knock on wood has been reliable. Periodically have some buffering issues, but I also chock that up to the sources and sometimes internet reliability.

I'm actually OK with buffering and all that...I have internet via cable (60 mgps).
I know KODI and have used it its pretty cool, but all I can find for sports are providers that require that I have cable TV in order to stream ...
THAT is what I'm trying to get rid of! ...I am hoping to use ONLY internet and dump the TV cost of cable....
What is fire tv? I bought the firestick from Ebay with KODI and Exodus already loaded,...it works great....
I'm looking to get college sports which seems impossible without a TV provider.

I bought mine for 70$ a month or so ago from the above seller. I feel it was a great buy, but learning to use it kind of sucked if you aren't familiar with a firestick.

I installed Kodi on my fire stick in about 15 minutes with the help of a step by step YouTube video.
